Craiggg Posted May 28, 2008 Posted May 28, 2008 Ok well I have a vista recovery disc. I copied all files to a folder. Also I downloaded a copy already in iso format.I've tried both folder with both different versions. I also tried reading it from cd. Won't let me open it.Says:Can not find the expected files. Make sure you select the folder or drive which contains the Vista installation files, usually on the installation DVD.I'm not a noob or anything to computers or programs except this one which I seem to be having troubles with.If anybody could help or give me some tips it would be greatly appreciated.I really need to get a disc with sp1 on it cause it won't let me install the update through windows update or the stand alone installer. Just sits there and doesn't do anything. Even let it run while I was sleeping one night.=\
MagicAndre1981 Posted May 28, 2008 Posted May 28, 2008 sorry you can't use a recovery disc as an source. You should get a untouched Vista DVD from MS
Craiggg Posted May 29, 2008 Author Posted May 29, 2008 Well I have a vista iso file. I think I figured it out. If I just burn it to a dvd then open it from that it will work right?=\
Tomorrow Posted May 29, 2008 Posted May 29, 2008 Well I have a vista iso file. I think I figured it out. If I just burn it to a dvd then open it from that it will work right?=\Not much point in that.Download WinRAR.Extract the ISO to harddrive and use vLite to choose the extracted files.
MagicAndre1981 Posted May 29, 2008 Posted May 29, 2008 you can also use a Software that creates a virtual DVD drive and mount the ISO with one of this tools
