TranceEnergy Posted May 27, 2008 Posted May 27, 2008 Is this XP with Service Pack 3?I have removed all of those things on 64bit recently and no trouble here. If you are using a single home computer and or not connected to any domain controller, you should, with admin account, have no trouble usually to change what name is of workgroup and not. Possibly this could be some tweak done under nlite. But i dont see any culprit that should do this to a system. If you however are running a Vmware install or similiar, i would suggest you keep the mac bridge.

What services have you removed/disabled? Are the server and workstation services running?
