Xp Install to computer With two Hard discs

Featured Replies

Hello,

I will be attempting to install xp pro on my computer which has two hard discs, 80gbs and 160 gbs, currently empty with no partitions.

Basically I Want To Create my C: volume on the 80 gb disc to contain windows And Program Files,

And D: On the 160 Gb to Contain Documents and settings.

Will The Following additions to the WINNT.SIF file allow me to achieve this?

[Data]

AutoPartition=0

[unattended]

FileSystem=*

ProgramFilesDir="C:\Program Files"

CommonProgramFilesDir="C:\Program Files\Common Files"

[GuiUnattended]

ProfilesDir="D:\Documents and Settings"

Will AutoPartition=0 Allow Me To Choose The Partitions AND Volume Labels On BOTH Hard Discs?

I Am Pretty Much New To All This So I Could Be completely Wrong, any help would be appreciated, Thanks!

No. You can partition as many drives as you want with the XP setup manually, but you can only format the one you install windows to. With an unattended install it will only partition and format the first drive.

You can start the install via PE and partition and format the drives then run winnt32 to install xp.
