Broadband connection error 678 and 720

Hello,

I'm beyond frustrated with some error popups that started about a month ago and I'm hoping someone out there can help me. I have internet access, but started getting the following:

Connecting through WAN Miniport (PPPOE)...

Error 678: The remote computer did not respond. For futher assistance....

I tried fixing my connections and had a few people try some things out, but the messages kept popping up, even when I didn't have a browser open. Some days it was worse than others. The other day I tried to again fix the connections and Error 678 left, but now I have the following popping up every few seconds:

Error 720: Cannot connect the phonebook entry...

I am running Windows XP on my laptop computer and connect to the internet with a wireleess router. There are 2 other laptops in my house also connected wirelessly as well and they have not once had this issue.

Since the new error has started I'm having trouble loading pages and have to refresh at least once to get the page. Every few seconds I get the error pop up.

I hope someone out there has some ideas!

Hi,

I am facing the first problem which you faced Error 678. I have Windows XP home edition installed on my machine. I have BSNL Broadband connection. I have internal modem with my laptop. Dial up works fine for me. But I belive the BSNL modem is not getting connected. How to resolve this issue.

Kindly revert back. Please see attached file for the error message
