softmobi4all Posted May 9, 2008 Posted May 9, 2008 I have seen some system using windows xp, vista, etc. with the startup picture with their own photo and the system properties picture and logo with not original windows logo, I would like to change my system to show my own logo and pictures. Is there any way to change this by myself or I will need permission to get it change from microsoft. If anyone can help me I would be very grateful. : : Thank you.
joe43wv Posted May 9, 2008 Posted May 9, 2008 I always wanted to know how to do that too. I build systems for people on the side and that would be AWSOME if I could put a logo there.
ChrisKuhli Posted May 10, 2008 Posted May 10, 2008 (edited) The logo is a resource in the file sysdm.cpl (see in this forum). The Windows version string is coded in the system itself (e.g. if servicepack install)... Dunno but i think its a bit strange changing that i mean why should users to be fooled? If you do that needs also all Strings refering to the Windows changing? Do you build for enterprise or private? Cause might be license harm... Edited May 10, 2008 by ChrisKuhli
