*.lnk file open through Windows media player on Vista

Dear Friends,

When open any of .lnk, file on vista computer open windows media player. When open any start menu programme open windows media palyer.

It affect only for one user profile. Other profiles open those files file without any problem.

I need to reset this setting to default. (I don't need to restore that pc to earlier restore point and as well as create new user profile)

pls help.
