tpicnic05 Posted May 4, 2008 Posted May 4, 2008 so me and my buddy are trying to figure out if we can connect one computer to the internet if it is connected to another computer wirelessly. the computers are connected through ethernet. what can i do?
Idontwantspam Posted May 4, 2008 Posted May 4, 2008 If they are already connected through ethernet, then there is no advantage to using wireless, since ethernet is faster, more reliable/stable, more secure and cheaper. Unless you mean something else, in which case it would be nice if you could please clarify a bit what you mean. Welcome to MSFN by the way.
tpicnic05 Posted May 4, 2008 Author Posted May 4, 2008 thank you for the welcome.so my buddy only has a wireless modem, no router. his xbox is connected into the modem wired through ethernet. his laptop is wirelessly connected to that same modem, so what we wanna do is connect one of our x-box 360 to the internet that is connected to a computer that is wirelessly connected. how do we accomplish said task??? thank you for your time.
eyeball Posted May 4, 2008 Posted May 4, 2008 Look up ICS (internet connection sharing) in windows XP. Enable that and setup your network as below:INTERNET-----WIRELESS/MODEM/ROUTER-----wireless---PC-------wired---------XBOX.if you need any more help post again
