BikinDutchman Posted April 29, 2008 Posted April 29, 2008 (edited) I just saw that WinXP SP3 is pulled by MS because of problems with RMS, see here.Well I can also add something to the mix:-Slipstreaming WinXP RTM (gold) with SP3 leaves the old WINNTBBU.dl_ in but updates WINNTBBU.dll.-As a result CD installs use the (new) WINNTBBU.dll and-Winnt32 installs, of course, use the old WINNTBBU.dl_ with a signing error as bonus. All this after (how many?) months of beta testing .The fix: just delete the old WINNTBBU.dl_ . (WINNTBBU provides the interesting background while installing in GUI mode ) Edited April 29, 2008 by BikinDutchman
cluberti Posted April 29, 2008 Posted April 29, 2008 A little odd, yes, but how many normal people even see the Windows setup routine (and no, those of us here who do this thing regularly are NOT normal )? I can bet it's probably very low priority, if tested at all.
