Codex0 Posted April 29, 2008 Posted April 29, 2008 Hey there nLite junkiesMy questions are:1:) Can service pack 3 be directly slipstreamed onto a service pack 1 xp pro disk? or must i slipstream service pack 2, then 3?2:) Should i slipstream the disk using xp? or will my main computer using vista do it fine?3:) The computer i want to install xp onto again is a little pentium 3 590mhz with 192mb of sdram, which i use to upload and download files, it also uses an internal adsl modem and acts as a main server for my computer to get on the internet through on a small home network. What service, applications, and drivers should i remove from the install to get better performance? The apps i run on the little machine are azureus, avast anti virus, megaupload manager, irc and remote desktop. Also i use the feature that increases the amount of maximum slots/connections. Any suggestions and/or help is much appreciated
anonymous_user Posted April 29, 2008 Posted April 29, 2008 1. SP3 can be slipstreamed over SP1 or SP2. You can even slipstream to a RTM disc with no service packs.2. I would use XP; some people report a problem if you slipstream under Vista.3. I dont have suggestions for removal, but with 192mb of ram I do suggest using something other than Azureus.
