Would like to install XP on empty SATA HDD

Hi guys:

I killdisked the HDD on my new Aspire 7720Z to get rid of Vista, but now I can't install WinXP because it doesn't recognize the SATA HDD.

I have tried to make an F6 floppy from Intel storage manager, but my old computer does not have the right chipset to complete the job.

Is there a place from which I can simply download the SATA drivers to put on a floppy, so I can F6 them during the XP install?

I would even settle for Win98SE but it won't initialize because it doesn't recognize my RAM.

I've been fooling with this for weeks now and I am becoming frustrated:-(

ok the way i see it you have 4 options:

1. throw away that Acer and buy something from a manufacturer with a working downloads site (as of this post its not working) :realmad:

2. wait patiently for acer to fix their downloads site and hope they have a txtsetup.oem (floppy) driver available for XP :whistle:

3. find the exact type of mass storage controller and locate the txtsetup.oem driver from another OEM or the manufacturer of the controller :}

4. download driverpack base and driverpack Mass storage from http://driverpacks.net/DriverPacks/ and integrate them into a new XP cd. :yes:

I would go with option 4 because DPMassStorage probably has a driver for your PC in it. I would be surprised if it didnt.
