rickytheanuj Posted April 23, 2008 Posted April 23, 2008 Hi! people, I have a little bit of problem with my windows xp sp2 home edition, but actually it's not a problem. I bought my new Fujitsu laptop from Russia, and that computer had windows xp sp2 home edition loaded but , when i run that system i found that it's all in russian language, when i tried to change it from control panel it's not happened it does not worked... if i re-install windows xp sp2 professional, english version in this then will it work fine????please help me
Ponch Posted April 23, 2008 Posted April 23, 2008 Depends what you call "work fine". If you mean "be in english", yes. You cannot change the whole language of an XP install, you can only change the language you type in (as for spell checks). There is an MS package to change it from English to other language but not the opposite way. And I believe it's limited to Volume Licensing.
cluberti Posted April 23, 2008 Posted April 23, 2008 Correct. All non-English language versions of Windows XP are localized, meaning they cannot be changed. English versions can be changed via MUI packs (available to VL customers), but not Russian to English. You will need to buy an English copy of XP if you want English on that laptop.

I want to Re-install new windows Xp english version, which i have already. So i just want to know that if i re-install xp english version then will it work fine? Because i already used that windows xp english version in this laptop, but my laptop does not support that windows, (unable to install) that windows is in new CD i used that windows to my another desktop and it works fine, there is no problem in that copy of windows.
