Windows Picture and Fax Viewer(shimwvg) - Windows Photo Viewer

Hi, one thing I always do is to remove the Windows Photo Gallery component. I let Windows Photo Viewer because it's the default picture viewer. But what exactly is Windows Picture and Fax Viewer(shimwvg) ?

Also I can not explain why when i open a picture file i see Windows Photo Gallery in the title of the windows.

- don't have a clue, it was Picture Viewer in XP, maybe there now just for compatibility purposes. I remove it and don't miss it.

- Picture Viewer is a part of Picture Gallery
