Not sure if this was posted ... but I didn't see anything that appeared to be the same.

I used 1.1.6 b2 with Ultimate x64 and slipped SP1 before installing it on my laptop. I only removed languages and printer drivers ... other unneeded drivers too. And UAC!

I would have pulled more, but I wanted to run a diagnostic and see how each piece would effect system resources.

I went into the remove programs and features and opened the list.

When I click 'OK', it sits for a little while before giving me an error stating "An error has occurred. Not all of the features were successfully changed."

This kicks my RAM usage from ~ 500MB up to around 750MB for about a minute, then it slowly drops back down to 600MB. But not all the way.

Further, some of the items I selected (Tablet PC for example) continue to run.

I've turned these features off and on a million times prior to vLite'ing the program, so I know how they work ... and they normally do.

Not sure how to fix, but wanted to post my observation so that someone that does can pass it along to those that can fix it.

** I am going to reinstall a different (slimmer) version tomorrow after I change out my RAM. I had installed the other package yesterday and just wanted to get a base measure for performance diff. I had Tablet PC loaded in that one, and was able to turn it off. ** Note that I have an HP tx1000 laptop / Tablet.

At any rate, I love vLite and will continue to fiddle around till I get the best mix for my needs.

I just wanted to share.

Also worth noting, I used CCleaner. It's a great clean up tool similar to MS's disk cleaner, but it also cleans broken Registry items.

After installing the post vLite Ultimate w/ SP1 slipped in ... it found several items to fix. Not an issue, but A) worth noting and B) others may want to clean up after an install and it's a good program ... and free.

please check the file "C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log" for error messages and post the part with the errors here.

I'll double check when I get home, but I may have canned the error reporting service.

There wouldn't be any log still ... would there?

OK. I reinstalled a version of HomePremium 64 w/ SP1.

The only items removed were the language and UAC ... and some of the unused drivers.

I tried to turn off the tablet PC service and got the same error.

"Unable to remove Windows Search Service indexed data for user 'TabLap\Administrator' in response to user profile deletino. Error code 0x80070015.

The device is not ready."

Remember, that is a clean install made from 1.1.6 b2 with SP1 slipped in.

Anyway, I hope that helps ...

I'm actually going to reinstall an earlier version that worked like a dream.
