Briefcase missing or something else ?

Featured Replies

I had to add some drivers to my XP Pro installation in order to make it work on my laptop (drivers for SATA HD), and didn't payed much attention to the other options (all other options left to default), then i got a messed up windows.

When i click Add remove components, i got an error telling me that the system can't find nlite.inf, i searched and found out that there should be a fil called sysoc.inf in windows/inf hidden folder, but it is renamed by nlite to nlite.inf ... easy to do, fixed, then i noticed one day that my briefcase itself doesn't work, if i click new briefcase i got only a normal folder, no briefcase menu (update and stuff), then checked the add remove components/ accessories and found out that briefcase doesn't exist there. tried to put all hidden components in nlite.inf (aka sysoc.inf) to unhide them, lot of things appear but not briefcase in accessories.

So i wonder could anyone please help me and tell me how to get back my briefcase to my accessories, and maybe if someone can guide me to how to leave briefcase option as it is in nlite XP installation CD, maybe i'll make another installtion where i have already briefcase...

Thanks and hope someone can help, i am searching for a solution since 1 month

Wow, i guess this problem is common in nlite and nobody had similar problem, or is it just this problem can't be solved

thanks

Maybe you had better post this in the nLite section for more replies. If like you say you didn't touch any other option, your problem is probably caused by the use of an already modified source (starting cd).
