Hey all! I've been away taking a class on a program and right now my head is pounding due to the information received and the speed it was taken. I'm working on fixing my laptop and desktop before I leave for deployment to Iraq so I'm reading up on nlite and getting an XP disc available so I don't have to worry about stuff being deleted from the military.

I've been reading http://www.msfn.org/board/How-To-Create-Ad...deo-t63596.html and I'm able to make some sense of things right now which is so far good. For my first, and hopefully last, question, at the end of the first post, it states to test the add-on...how can I test it? Like I said, I have been through hell right now so my mind isn't in the best shape right now so bare with me please on my stupidity. :wacko:

Thanks for the help guys and from the support I've been reading on, I know this site is definitely the right place to be.

Downloading and installing VirtualBox now, thank you!

Next question: I purchased a copy of XP from my school which is comes with IE7 preloaded on it. It's definitely not illegal or pirated in any way so no need to jump into conclusions. I want to remove IE7 and create an addon for IE6. Am I placing a checkmark next to Internet Explorer in the Network tab under the components section?

Also, does this look correct for creating an addon with IE6:

[general]
builddate=March 11, 2008
description=
language=English
title=Internet Explorer 6
version=6.0
website=http://www.microsoft.com

[EditFile]
I386\SVCPACK.INF,SetupHotfixesToRun,AddProgram

[AddProgram]
ie6setup.EXE

I'm going to work on the .cab file next which shouldn't be difficult at all. Thanks again everyone!

:::EDIT:::

Well, all I did was select the remove button for IE in the Networking component area, and when I started up the disc in VirtualBox, IE7 wasn't there at all. Selected "My Computer" and in the address bar of explorer, I typed in a website and it showed that IE6.0 was installed. I didn't add the ie6setup.exe file yet which is good cause now I know it works fine just by doing that. Now, all I need to do is make addon's for some other freeware programs I have including purchased software and I am good to go.

Thanks to everyone that has posted up problems and solutions...kept me from having a bigger headache! Now, to add these drivers and I should be good to go.

This topic can be closed! Thank you! Will make new post for any future related problems.
