Group Policy

Recommended Posts

I have a few settings under group policy that I would like the registry keys for. Unless you know another way to integrate them into my unattended cd.

Internet Explorer:

Browser Title

Set Homepage

Favorites

Windows Messenger:

Do Not Allow Windows Messenger to be run (enabled)

Do not automatically start windows messenger initially (enabled)

Add Logoff to start menu

Turn off personalized Menu

Force Classic Start Menu

Remove Desktop Cleanup Wizard

Force classic Control Panel

I would appreciate any and all answers to this.

As well as the information provided by Idontwantspam, all these have been solved previously on these forums.

Did you use the search facility?

I would, if it worked better.

Has someone made a tutorial on editing group policy for an unattended install?

If not, can someone point me in the right direction?

I'd imagine you can make a batch file to edit registry keys.

-sigh-

Look in the unattended section - unattended.msfn.org.

It clearly explains how to use reg tweaks with an unattended CD.

The other way to do it, which isn't in there but that I like, is to install a fresh copy of xp, make any group policy changes you want, then copy %windir%\system32\group policy for cdroot\$OEM$\$$\system32\group policy. then all administrative templates will be applied.
