_hunter
Greetings...I've recently installed windows vista and some "cool" things begun: I've installed such tool as TypeAndRun and added it to sturtup. But after each reboot windows shows message that startup program was blocked. And in programs list button "enable" is disabled... Stoping windows defender service not helpls: programs still blocked, but when I'm trying to view it's list -- I've receiving error message that service is blocked. How to fix this problem?Best regards... MagicAndre1981
this happens when you have UAC enabled and you put a program to the startup folder with requires elevated rights to run. UAC blocks those tool by default. The workaround is to create a new task inside the tasksheduler to start the tool elevated when you login.
_hunter
But that tool (AFAIK) not needs elevated rights... And that program still starts somehow...Maybe there is some way to fully disable windows defender -- if it blocks my apps?..
MagicAndre1981
I tried it and the tool runs fine for me. But I removed Defender. Try to disable Defender.
_hunter
How to do it? -- I've tried to disable it's service (WinDefend) but result was the same, and i was anable to see programs list...
MagicAndre1981
disable the service and remove the Defender GUI from automatic startup. You can use AutoRuns for doing this.
