blacklotus Posted March 1, 2008 Posted March 1, 2008 Ok, i've successfully used nLite for over a year now and i love it. but for some reason with the last few releases, i can't get wireless working and i've tried this on 3 different laptops!I'm now using 1.4.1 and i can't get it to work properly. i've searched all over the forums and have tried almost every combination of services and i've even set it so that it practically doesn't remove anything except for the extra folders, but with no success.Normally i'll install either RyanVM's (also tried xable) post sp2 update along with a couple other progs and barely remove anything. after everything is done, i'll use the driverpacks installer. i've even tried not installing any WLAN drivers at all!i make sure NLA and WZC are on. what happens is that the bubble letting me know that wireless networks are in range, but when i go to view them, the list is empty. this is for 3 different laptops. what could i be doing wrong here? here is my latest ini (i applied driverpacks after nlite)[Main]Env = 1.4.1 - 2.0.50727.42.Microsoft Windows NT 5.1.2600 Service Pack 2Target = Windows XP Professional SP2 - 5.1.2600.2180 - English (United cluberti Posted March 1, 2008 Posted March 1, 2008 I hate to state the obvious, but you're sure that on these machines, if you don't install an nLite'd copy of Windows XP it works?
blacklotus Posted March 4, 2008 Author Posted March 4, 2008 I hate to state the obvious, but you're sure that on these machines, if you don't install an nLite'd copy of Windows XP it works?yes, i'm ABSOLUTELY positive. in fact, before i tried "cleaning up" these laptops 2 of these were successfully nlited before with an older version. i have tried both corp and pro standard (upgrade) versions with the same problem.
BikinDutchman Posted March 4, 2008 Posted March 4, 2008 I have no clue either, but one of the hotfixes that you routinely add for wireless is 917021This is mostly a WPA2 fix, but if your access points are all WPA2 that may explain the observed behavior.I hope is helps. Otherwise you go the long and winding road of removing nLite options until it works.
