Leeoniya
first, i know there is a way to disable autorun/autoplay through the registry/TweakUI.however, what i want is to keep autorun but disable the functionality that tries to identify what type of media you have inserted and gives you that annoying "actions" menu.i dont want my entire 500gb drive traversed just because i put it in, but i do want to use autorun.inf if it exists on that drive (eg to pull up a portable program menu). i havent found anywhere that describes if this is possible or how it can be done. is this an auto run "package deal". i sincerely hope not.thanks,Leon

Guest
Well since no one has answered I think for windows native functions, it's a package deal...if it's one type of drive. You would have to look for a third party solution.
JustinStacey.x
you could try disabling the shell hardware detection service, however I have a feeling that will stop autoplay altogether.
