im working on a production machine that had an IE7 auto upgrade go wrong (crashed every time you start it)

i just uninstalled and reinstalled and went to WU to make sure i had all updates and it had KB946501 listed as an optional update so I applied it and it failed (i havent rebooted yet since the ie7 upgrade) so a failed update isnt exactly unexpected but the text in the grey box near the bottom of the screen was unexpected:
