rayhenry Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 OK, I am trying to use nLite to create an install CD without all HP's bloatware. I'm completely legal here, just don't want the crap that they have forced me to have and their recovery partition. I've tried now on 3 different machines to use nLite to extract XP so that I can make a bloatware-free install CD.Everything proceeds fine until the progress bar gets almost to the end. Then a window pops up saying "Error while extracting the Administrator localization string. Please report, exiting". When I click OK, nLite shuts down completely.I've using the origional HP recovery CD, number 1 of 7. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks,Ray
Arie Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 If I'm not mistaken, I believe that recovery discs can't (always) be used with nLite, but I could be wrong. Perhaps it's mentioned in the FAQ if recovery discs are supported, so have a look there as well.
