robchenski Posted February 25, 2008 Share Posted February 25, 2008 Hullo.I'm on the 5th go now! (I will get around to installing VMWare too!)Everything seems fine apart from msconfig and disk defragmenter WON'T run (I wonder what else is missing / not working). I have found the .exe(s), these files are present!From 'RUN' type msconfig and got error. Now fixed in registry by adding to the apps path.But still no disk defragmenter. I've tried running the file, can not see any result. From the DD in computer management I can see the disk volume I expect but will not do anything! (NOTE: Tried running defrag c: form command line but error message says 'Windows cannot connect to the disk defragmenter engine')I have tried several times, different PCs, new ISOs, left all options apart from integrate SP3, a couple of drivers and a few unattended options, make bootable. Still I have same issue.It seems even the search ain't gonna work for me today! Any help / thoughts much appreciated.Robby**********************************************Last Session.ini - below**********************************************[Main]Env = 1.4.1 - 2.0.50727.42.Microsoft Windows NT 5.1.2600 Service Pack 1Target = Windows XP Professional SP3 - 5.1.2600.3264 - English (United States)[Tasks]Service Pack IntegrationUnattended SetupIntegrate DriversTweaksCreate a Bootable ISOOptions[Components];# Compatibility #[KeepFiles]msconfig.exe[RemoveFiles]clock.aviyahoo.bmpswtchbrd.bmp[Options]ClassicSetupBlackSetupBackProfilesDir = "%SystemDrive%\Documents and Settings"TargetPath = "WINDOWS"temp_dir = %USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Temp[Patches][services2][Tweaks][unattended]ComputerType = DefaultResolution = 1024x768MaximumDataStorePercentOfDisk = 12RestorePointLife = 30DesktopTheme = Default||AutoUpdates = 3AutoUDay = 5AutoUHour = 15ProgFilesPath = "\Program Files"[NetAdapter1]connname = ""macaddress = ""ipaddress = "192.168.0.1"subnetmask = "255.255.255.0"defaultgateway = ""dnsserver1 = ""dnsserver2 = ""winsserver = ""netbiossetting = "0"ipxnetworknumber = "00000000"ipxnetworkframetype = "0xFF"[NetAdapter2]connname = ""macaddress = ""ipaddress = "192.168.0.2"subnetmask = "255.255.255.0"defaultgateway = ""dnsserver1 = ""dnsserver2 = ""winsserver = ""netbiossetting = "0"ipxnetworknumber = "00000000"ipxnetworkframetype = "0xFF"[NetAdapter3]connname = ""macaddress = ""ipaddress = "192.168.0.3"subnetmask = "255.255.255.0"defaultgateway = ""dnsserver1 = ""dnsserver2 = ""winsserver = ""netbiossetting = "0"ipxnetworknumber = "00000000"ipxnetworkframetype = "0xFF"[GuiRunOnce][Drivers]C:\Documents and Settings\Master\My Documents\XP_Drivers\stormng-20070827133046\Intel Matrix Storage Manager-7.5.0.1017\F6flpy\ICH7M_32bit\iaahci.inf,iaAHCI_ICH7MC:\Documents and Settings\Master\My Documents\XP_Drivers\stormng-20070827133046\Intel Matrix Storage Manager-7.5.0.1017\F6flpy\ICH8M_32bit\iaahci.inf,iaAHCI_ICH8M[Hotfixes] Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Arie Posted February 26, 2008 Share Posted February 26, 2008 I'm on the 5th go now!The "5th go" on the same source? If so, then I can imagine that you perhaps removed certain components during an earlier "go". Re-copy your source from your original installation disc and start over to see if the problem occurs with a fresh source as well. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
