Install XP without formatting during setup

Hi!

I have a new OQO Tablet PC (Model 01+), but XP gave up.

After a lot of searching I finally found out how to use a USB stick to reinstall, however the setup doesn't get past the formatting part - It just states that it couldn't format the partition!

I can however format it in PartitionMagic to NTFS, but is there a way to keep the XP Setup from formatting the drive again?

Well, a better question is, can you delete the partition with XP setup, create a new partition, REBOOT, and then retry setup formatting the partition? I've seen this happen on some of my own attempts to test this on an older test machine I have - if the partition doesn't exist (empty) when I start setup, the format would fail.

here what i do when i wanna install new xp but not to format that again and agian

i use nlite to make the install dirs diff then windows [like win]

doc and settings will be users or user

and prografiles will be pro
