Local/Group Policies needed for Windows Installer?

Hi,

it is possibly that the windows installer doesn't work without Local and/or Group policies?

I'm not sure but with the removal of these components the windows installer cannot be configured (content of a messagebox).

I had the problem with XP SP2, SP3 Build 3244 and also under Build 3300. At the moment I haven't removed them and now all works fine.

If it should be so, you should add it in the needed for section.

Do you maybe have a recommended install to test on and what were the issues?

Configuring the content of a messagebox does not ring any bells.

A few days after my post I have made a new Windows and removed my old.

I will try tomorrow wether that really are these components or not.

I use a German Windows and that is the fact why I have not post the complete content of the messagebox.

Sorry, but I had some problems with VirtualBox.

These components aren't needed for Windows Installer. Windows Installer works also without them fine. I had to check it before starting this thread. Sorry
