HALK Posted February 7, 2008 Posted February 7, 2008 When ever I reboot our Windows 2003 enterprise server running service pack 2 the MSDTC service does not start. I have to resetlog. I have the folder for the log in the path, but the server dosen't find it. I get 3 different Event code erros in the Event Viewer, they are: Event Type: Error Event Source: MSDTC Event Category: SVC Event ID: 4112 Date: & nbsp;1/23/2008 Time: & nbsp;6:06:09 PM User: & nbsp;N/A Computer: NETMAN01 Description: Could not start the MS DTC Transaction Manager. Event Type: Error Event Source: MSDTC Event Category: TM Event ID: 4185 Date: & nbsp;1/23/2008 Time: & nbsp;6:06:09 PM User: & nbsp;N/A Computer: NETMAN01 Description: MS DTC Transaction Manager start failed. LogInit returned error 0x5. Event Type: Error Event Source: MSDTC Event Category: LOG Event ID: 4163 Date: & nbsp;1/23/2008 Time: & nbsp;6:06:09 PM User: & nbsp;N/A Computer: NETMAN01 Description: MS DTC log file not found. After ensuring that all Resource Managers coordinated by MS DTC have no indoubt transactions, please run msdtc -resetlog to create the log file. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this problem. I searched Microsoft Knowledgebase, but I found no help there.ThanksHal
cluberti Posted February 7, 2008 Posted February 7, 2008 LogInit received an access denied when trying to write the log file. Have you tried running msdtc -resetlog yet?
