You said it is possible to remove without loss of other functionalities.

Could you or others give some examples please?

If this only includes NT 4.0 Server or WINS compatibility under Windows 2000/XP/2003 then great.

Hopefully it has nothing to do with Active Directory/MDAC/Jet/MSXML or even Simple File Sharing.

I generally disable the latter.
