macgyver37 Posted February 7, 2008 Posted February 7, 2008 (edited) I have used the program only once but I would like to be able to enter the program and see the different aspects of the program without having to load an install disc. most programs you can check out the look and feel of the menus etc with out starting a project and it would be nice to see this ability in vlite.P.S. what I really mean is not have to copy the files until I am ready to commit to the project. Have it read the Vista Install disc but not copy the files until you tell it to. All I have is a 80GB HHD in this laptop and space isn't a luxury but its all I got to work with and this stuff is so much fun. Edited February 7, 2008 by macgyver37
nuhi Posted February 7, 2008 Posted February 7, 2008 Yeah that shares the same idea with the guys who want to copy the modified version and keep the original intact.Still trying to justify that feature, getting close There are some screenshots herehttp://www.vlite.net/about.html
macgyver37 Posted February 7, 2008 Author Posted February 7, 2008 well I could see that having what I said could be useful in that you could enter the program, use your dvd of the os which we should basically all have anyway. now with the program running I could create a preset if something were not to work I could send the preset file to someone who could open it and see how to tell me to fix it. thats just one reason I can think of for not having to commit resources until I am sure all my choices are correct. basicly I don't like the idea of having to copy GB's of data just to look around in the program. even the post give me the ability to preview before I commit.
nuhi Posted February 7, 2008 Posted February 7, 2008 Ok, since Vista files are big this became a necessity.Gonna seriously bump it up the production line
macgyver37 Posted February 8, 2008 Author Posted February 8, 2008 cool, and now that SP1 is basicly avail. my company got it today uploaded to our servers I can see about slip streaming and testing vlite on the new version.
nuhi Posted February 8, 2008 Posted February 8, 2008 Btw sp1 can't be slipstreamed like older packs could, read the vlite.net second news post about that with the guide. Unless you can get preintegrated ISO which is best solution.
