Guys,

MSFN has helped me in the past, and I'm sure you guys can help me again.

I have a working WDS server with Windows PE and WDS images for Windows Vista and Windows XP Professional. What you have to do to make a WDS image of Windows XP professional is to Sysprep the installation and use the mini-setup option so that all the permissions, users, settings are being "deleted" so that the image can be used on different computers.

Today I wanted to make a WDS image of a Windows XP Home installation, so i tried to do the same here. It seems that Home doesn't support the mini-setup option (grayed out), and the only two options I have is to Reseal or Factory mode. When you Reasel the installation it doesn't throw away the created user and doesn't restore the settings.

So I can make the image, but when i deploy the image all the user information is also copied onto the new computer. I thought of going into safe mode and deleting this user (logging in as administrator) but there is no way you can delete this user (the only "normal" user).

If a company has Windows XP Home computers, I'm sure they wouldn't make WDS images for all of them..

One of you should have had the same problem.... :sneaky:

Thanks,

r00ster
