pinkuzi Posted February 4, 2008 Posted February 4, 2008 This isn't a suggestion for vLite, necessarily, but I was unsure where else to post.It seems to me entirely possible to develop a service pack installer for sp1 that would work with vLite. The files in the service pack can already be extracted, how difficult would it be to copy the files over (checking first to see if they are installed or have been stripped out) and then register any dlls, etc..?
nuhi Posted February 4, 2008 Posted February 4, 2008 That was the way I was about to go but reverse integration routine (capture) and MS preintegrated releases are keeping me out of it. No point in risking stability.

No point in risking stability.Wouldn't it still be beneficial to work out some sort of installer as we're looking at a system rebuild for each service pack in order to use the integrated iso?
nuhi Posted February 4, 2008 Posted February 4, 2008 Pardon my hasted reply, I just now realized that you were talking about the post-install update.Sorry but no, wouldn't even think about it. It would take too much time and at this point I'm not even sure if it's possible without their TrustedInstaller privileges.I would rather spend my time on reinstalling once and making more options, then reinstall again You have 30 days to activate so make best of them, try many combinations. All of that just because one doesn't want to reinstall is asking too much, IMHO.
