Surfinette Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 Hi there,I have a new Toshiba laptop with VistaHome Premium preinstalled and delivered with a restoration CD, but no original version of Vista on a separate DVD.Whenever I use the Toshiba restoration CD, I'm back with a brand new PC (with a fully restored system including all the crappy programs Toshiba adds to Vista...) but also with all data erased, including data saved on the non-system partition. Indeed the restoration procedure with the Toshiba CD reformat all partitions not the system partition only Hence I want to create my own Vista DVD using vLite, so if my system crash, I can reinstall Vista on the system partition without loosing the data on the other partition. But can I use vLite and create a Vista DVD without an original Vista DVD? I'm not familiar with Vista, much more so with XP (and I know that with nLite it was possible to create an XP CD without the original XP CD).any help will be welcomedSurfinette
MagicAndre1981 Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 you can't use vLite with customized OEM DVDs, sorry.Buy a Anytime Upgrade DVD and use this one a source.
