Intel chipset drivers

Hello folks, happy new year!

Well, it's been a while since I was an active member of this forum, however I recently purchased a new (second hand) laptop, and would like to ask your advice before finalising a new Windows XPsp2+RyanVM installation.

I am rather curious about the exact purpose of downloading and installing the Intel chipset drivers, as opposed to simply using the built-in Windows versions.

After downloading 'infinst_autol.zip', and looking through the contents of the archive, there do not appear to be any .sys or .dll files, therefore I wonder if there are any benefits (performance etc.) other than perhaps having the specific names of components in Device Manager?

Moreover, if I use nLite to remove the Intel IDE driver, then integrate the downloaded Intel drivers, will everything still work correctly? I am a little sceptical, due to the lack of .sys files in the archive downloaded from Intel.

Any insights would be most appreciated.
