Hopefully this topic does not go against any of the rules here... But I am asking for any legitimate solutions to this problem.

Currently I have an old Windows 98 Disc and an old XP Pro Upgrade CD Key. However at the moment I don't have a XP Pro Upgrade CD.

Is there a way to use an XP Pro Upgrade CD Key with a normal XP Pro SP2 CD? Or is there a way to obtain an ISO of the CD through MS or some other site?

Any help would be appreciated. As I have said I am not sure if asking this question goes against the rules of these forums, but if they do feel free to lock/delete this topic.

Ummmm let me think I do believe you can use that key with another retail disk.

It wouldn't hurt at all to call MS and ask them I have heard of them sending out replacement media (The XP upgrade disk) for 10 bucks...

I'm pretty sure they'll send you a CD if you fax them a copy of the COA and product key. I could be wrong, but I seem to remember doing this a few years ago in a similar situation.

Yea guess I will try the retail disk. I just hate talking to MS...

Even having to call them for reactivating after I change out motherboard is annoying. I can just imagine how much fun this could be.
