January 8, 200818 yr So yeah, basically i have two friends that need a laptop a.s.a.p. one of them wants one with a 12 inch screen, and the other with a 15 inch screen. its going to be used for basic use, such as going on the internet, typing documents. It has to last well for at least 2 years. as for the budget, least as possible.heres a list to make things less confusing.one-12 inch-basic use-last at least 2 years-least as possible spending $two-15 inch-basic use-last at least 2 years-least as possible spending $I haven't been looking around yet because i've been really busy lately and if you guys can help, i would appreciate it! thanks! January 8, 200818 yr First look for used laptops on craigslist, etc. If they don't need to do anything intensive, see if there i a freegeek in your area. when i visited portland over the holidays i went to theirs - it's amazing! Then, i'd say look around on the major OEM sites - dell.com, hp, etc. For the 15 inch i'd say get a dell Vostro 1500, personally.
