darf Posted January 4, 2008 Posted January 4, 2008 Hi All,I have recently gotten a Toshiba p200 laptop and I am trying to downgrade it to XP Pro (From Vista)The CD I used for the sources boots my laptop properly and starts setup. But it does not get passed the hard drive setup because its missing the AHCI drivers. This is an XP Pro CD with SP2, it is an original from MS.In comes nLite, I integrated the intel AHCI drivers and pretty much left the rest of the nlite options as default and burned the image on CD. Note that this image works on other laptops and PC's. just like the original does. (i.e. it runs the setup)booting this p200 laptop with this CD hangs after "Inspecting your computer's hardware..." message. It does not crash or become unresponsive though. It just doesn't do anything after that message and the screen is blank. I also want to point out that the CD drive stops spinning at this point.I am at a total loss on how to troubleshoot this, I have tried different things and played with some of nlite's options and created a few cd's in the process but none of them will start setup on this latop. they all work on other pc's and the original xp cd works on this latop. Please help I'm freaking out.
