swaro2000 Posted December 31, 2007 Posted December 31, 2007 Has anyone also been able to install windows SP3RC1 on a PC with stripped Hard drives?Installation Disk consists of XP pro SP3 RC1, IE7, .NET3.5, latest Bâshrat drivers among other switchless apps. Disk was slipstreamed using nlite 1.41.During installation you get an error stating 'Setup did not find any hard drives installed', press F3 to quit. I tried mirroring the drives but got the same error message. I disabled Raid in Bios & the installation with the same XP disk seems to be going ok. As of this posting I have another 10min before the installation completes.Has anyone else seen this?
swaro2000 Posted January 1, 2008 Author Posted January 1, 2008 Installation has finnished. This post is from the PC the installation was done on. So it seems SP3_RC1 has a problem with stripped &/or mirrored (RAID) drives
Mt.Dew Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 (edited) I am writing this posting on a SP3v3264 install with raid drivers so my Raptor's run in RAID 0. What I did was, make an nlite install disk that has my key and my SATA/RAID drivers slipstreamed. Then, I took the new image, copied the contents to my hard-drive(F:\XPSP3), extracted sp3v3264 to the folder, then integrated SP3v3264 using command line F:\XPSP3\i386\update\update /s:F:\XPSP3. Then created a bootable .iso from that folder. Rebooted my system, did a fresh install. No troubles at all with finding the RAID during install. Also, I did not have any other SATA drives installed besides the ones in RAID. I plugged them in after the OS was done installing.NVIDIA STRIPE 138.49GPartition Partition Type Drive Start Offset Partition Length#1 (Active) NTFS C: (Raptor-Raid) 0 MB 141808 MBOS Service Pack Service Pack 3, v.3264OS Installation Date 12/24/2007 Edited January 3, 2008 by Mt.Dew
