tuckers Posted December 24, 2007 Posted December 24, 2007 (edited) I want to install Vista 32 or preferable 64 on a new SSD drive that is 32 GB. I want to have Vista and all my applications (only a few gigs of apps) fit on a 32 GB disk. What size can I expect on a moderate vlite install? Is 64bit Vista much larger than 32 bit?My main system is Vista 32 that I have hand tweaked, and with all of MS's stupid indexing and temp file storage stuff switched off, it is about 36 GB, but I have tons of big programs loaded there too. Thanks! nuhi Posted December 24, 2007 Posted December 24, 2007 32bit Vista Windows folder below 2GB, 64bit probably 3.5. And all works. There is an extreme component in 1.1RC which can trim both by one third more (Component Cache removal), but it is quite extreme because if you want to install any hotfixes after removing that you gotta integrate and reinstall.
