Black screen during start XP Pro

Hi Guys,

Got a strange thing over here and I almost killed my PC (really! That long I am busy...)

It cost me 8 CD´s and 4 days, still no clue what it is.

I Use Nlite 1.4.1, do my thing in Nlite and burn my iso.

Then I want to install it, but after pushing a button for CD install and XP says checking hardware configuration for a few seconds I get a black screen, HD light keeps going, CD not and nothing happens.... :realmad:

I tried to set the most safed settings and tried also different CD brands. Tried to make first ISO and burn with as wel as Nlite and with Nero as directly burn with Nlite. Nada.

Also looked in the search here and this link looks like my problem. I tried the toled solution, but also no result.

http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showto...hl=black+screen

I tried all burned CD´s on my laptop and my PC. Both the same result. I made a Nlite ISO before in the past for the laptop, no problem (Its still running here) But I dont know if it was the 1.4 or 1.4.1 version of Nlite. 1.4 I don´t see here on the site anymore.

Please, someone help me with this one. I have no idea what this could be.

Man, have to install windows, solve a triple boot XP-Linux problem, I need to buy time

Many thanks already for your input.

PS: Sorry for my bad English, am from Holland

No one has an idea about this? :(

EDIT: Problem solved! I had a serious hardware problem somewhere. I deinstalled my memory, CD drives, etc. and put it back together.

Now the CD runs. Lets go for a ligther XP :-)

AAARRRGGHHH....... Next fun detail:

The boot CD only boots WITH IDE disks (2x). No problem, but after install I get my windows partition on the E: partition instead of the C:

Not amused I can say  Seems that the C and D are my IDE disks.....

BOOT order in BIOS is set for SATA.

Without the IDE disks (So that I can install on the C: drive) Nlite ISO XP CD went black after seeing configuring your hardware for a few seconds.

And nothing happens. SATA drivers are integrated.

Even disabling IDE in BIOS did not help. And completely remove IDE kabel from motherboard and remove the powercord from the disks also did not help.

Possibly a problem with recognizing SATA disk? It´s a Silicon Image onboard controller.

Please help... Is really being appreciated :thumbup
