Ray99330 Posted December 19, 2007 Posted December 19, 2007 I worked on a word document in my USB stick. I was sure I had closed the file before removing the USB stick from computer. However, when I reconnected the USB stick with computer and open the word document again, Word required me to choose a code to read the text. Unfortunately, my content couldn’t recover and turn into some unidentified symbols. I tried many softwares like Office fix, Docrepair to recover my document but they didn’t work. I have worked on this document for a month and it is used for my University admission essay. It is the only copy I have. I am extremely upset about it. Could anyone help me to recover it? I uploaded my document here.I deeply appreciate if someone could help me. ThanksThe_broken_document.doc
IcemanND Posted December 19, 2007 Posted December 19, 2007 Here's the best I can get you. The text looks like it is ther but the formatting is likely gone. It's a starting point.
Ray99330 Posted December 19, 2007 Author Posted December 19, 2007 Thanks, Iceman! I only recovered this part too. Did you mean the format of other text change, making them unable to be identified by Office? From my experience, though we disconnect USB with computer suddenly, data will sure loss and file will get back to the previous saved state. It is so strange that the file will be damaged this time. That’s what I wondering. Indeed, I tried to contact Microsoft for technical support but I couldn’t find out the related technical supports in Microsoft website and microsoft forums.Again, thanks for you helping me.
