removing recovery options from boot.wim

Recommended Posts

So, I finally got my DVD built, and vlite all setup the way I want it to.

However - it seems that since I used my recovery CD, and the boot.wim from it, it defaults to the Asus recovery CD option.

Even worse, it looks like it axed my first partition (ubuntu =/)

What are my options here for getting boot.wim working?

This is more of a Vista forum question, just saying that you would get better answers there, if you want me to move it let me know.

I would say check if you maybe used Autounattend.xml file from your recovery DVD. If not then see is there a \sources\$oem$ folder.

And lastly mount boot.wim and explore it for Asus stuff.

I mounted the boot.wim file, and found that there is a ghost directory that also has some other asus stuff in there. It took me a few minutes to find it, but eventually I found an ini filed called winpeshl.ini. In there it was calling one of the asus applications. I have now commented that out.

Any idea if there are any other options I need to put in there, or will leaving it blank let me start the install? thanks!
