Fixie Posted December 12, 2007 Posted December 12, 2007 In relation to this one : http://www.msfn.org/board/Networks-Internet-f21.htmlAnyone know how to get "your local" DC out of Active Directory? From the CLI?I've been asked now to get all Ninja and find the local DC for remote users - i.e. User from one state on the road in another state RAS to the Network connecting to HQ - must get Login script relating to their "Home" location. I was never meant to script.
tain Posted December 15, 2007 Posted December 15, 2007 That link goes to this subforum. Sounds like you are asking a programming question, so I'll move your topic over there.Good luck![ moved ]
Mordac85 Posted December 21, 2007 Posted December 21, 2007 OK, this could be a rather complex question, but I'm not sure what you mean. Logon scripts are assigned to a user account and the DC you hit depends largely on costing as it's defined in the domain. But I think you mean something else entirely. Do you mean you want to determine where a user is logging in from (in the office or on the road) and from that perform some tasks? If so is there a particular IP subnet(s) associated with the VPN/RAS connections or are the clients only using a dial-up connection?
