pcandpc Posted December 9, 2007 Posted December 9, 2007 Hi,After system POST, the booting to the desktop takesmore than about 5 minutes.I think introducing an archaic floppy drive with IDEinterface for 144MB capacity has caused this booting delay. However, I don't want to take away the 144MB floppy drive.Could there be other reasons for this long booting?By the way, the floppy drive is from Caleb and this companyis defunct already; I cannot try their driver if it has ever existed.Thanks.
cluberti Posted December 9, 2007 Posted December 9, 2007 If you remove it temporarily, does the problem persist, or does the boot time improve?
gosh Posted December 10, 2007 Posted December 10, 2007 There should be something logged in event viewer. Is it sticking on the welcome screen? If so what does it say when it sticks?-gosh
