akaidiot Posted November 30, 2007 Posted November 30, 2007 On my laptop I've tried both Vista and now back to XP SP2. This is my problem: After having the computer on for a day or two with firefox, photoshop, itunes etc. running I loose the right-click context menu in some programs and the save menu in photoshop doesn't come up etc. This get's temporarily fixed by closing an app. This led me to believe it was a ram problem, but I have 3GB ram and atleast 1GB was marked as available when the problem occures.. Any ideas, suggestions? Also, after running firefox for a couple of hours all of the sudden enter and ESC stop working in the website area. So all search forms etc on webpages can't be submitted by pressing enter and webpages can't be stopped from loading by pressing ESC. But strangely enough shift + enter & shift + esc works!!?These problems have me baffled and I've held of reporting them since I tend to resolve issues with drivers update or something else but these problems have showed up in both fresh installes of Windows Vista ultimate and XP SP2.
akaidiot Posted November 30, 2007 Author Posted November 30, 2007 Check your RAM for problems using Memtest86.I have and (sadly..?) I got no errors..
Arie Posted November 30, 2007 Posted November 30, 2007 Apperantly some of the software which you install on both operating systems is causing this then, so I would suggest to remove certain software and add them one by one to find out which application is the cause of your problem. Could be other hardware problems too, such as with your hard disk or even your PSU, since you have it on two different operating systems.
