help with 2003 upgrades

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

We have around 900 boxes in the field that we need to upgrade to windows 2003. All boxes are windows 2000. I need to have this in a fashion that our clients do not have to make many selections. Also none of these boxes have a floppy drive.

I have created a cd with nlite and added what I needed. The only drivers I really need to add are the broadcom com drivers. Here is a copy of my winnt.sif file. I launch the install from windows by using winnt32 /unattended:winnt.sif

When I run the upgrade everything works correctly, but the broadcom driver install. I have learned I cannot use oempreinstall with winnt32 unattended upgrade. Will the upgrade try and install the broadcom drivers since oempreinstall is set to no? Is there a way I missing to automate the broadcom driver install. Any help would be appreciated since after the 25 tries I have gone thru I am a little frustrated.

Thanks

Try copying the driver files to the (Wizard's default search location) C:\WINNT\INF then the wizard should just "find" them on its own during the upgrade.

nLite is NOT for business or commercial use... Read the EULA contained in the nLite installation Dir. You need to try hfslip or one of the other alternatives.
