System Configuration Center Manager - Task Sequence

Hello,

I am trying to setup a OS distribution in System Configuration Center Manager.

When I go into Task Scheduler and create a new Capture media task I get the following error:

Cerfiticates for the default management point are not available (internal error).

I get this error when I click finish at the end of the task wizard.

Task sequence media information:

Media type: CD/DVD set

Output path: C:\CaptureMedia\WinCapture.iso

Distribution point(s): PLATYTESTDC

Boot image: Boot image (x86)

I have the Site Server on the DC which is the only server in a virtual network. So it also hosts SQL 2005 SP2, IIS, Certificate Authority, AD, DNS, and so on.

I have created the site signing certificate with document signing.

SCCM is in Native mode. It uses the default website. I have requested a certificate from the server in the default website with the name playttestdc

The server name is platytestdc

The domain is platytest.local

I have also tried having the certificate on the default website with the common name platytestdc.platytest.local

When I google this error the MS sites say try again, under trouble shooting. I have tried a number of times and it always errors at this point. All the information about assigning certificates to the default management point just say to request a web site certificate from the certificate authority and assign it to the SCCM Website in IIS.

I am at a complete loss here and have been stuck on this issue for ages. If anyone has any help or advice on how to move forward from here please let me know.

Ok, I've solved this problem. So for anyone else who has it, here is the solutions. Though, I must say, this has been a very frustrating experience. Once you know the issue it's really obvious. But without knowing before hand it's like a needle in a hay stack.

On the Primary Server node in Configuration Manager Console, right click, properties.

Select the Site Mode tab. Click on specify Root CA Certificates. Make sure that lines up with the Web Site certificate you specified for the IIS SCCM Website. Note, this certificate requires document signing.

You will need to export this certificate from the certificate authority as a binary with a .cer extension before you can add it.

If anyone is having trouble with this application, drop me a message. I'm planning on spending a fair bit of time on this software and it's always good to have a network of people working with this technology for those times when you get stuck!
