Avoid Reactivating Vista after fresh install - This used to work for X

there was a way to hold onto your activation credentials that were held in two files so that if you had to install xp all over again, you could move the two files back into place and be activated again without all the hassle.

I was wondering if the same thing was possible with Vista?
