From Event logger:The DCOM Server Process Launcher service terminated unexpectedly. It has done this 1 time(s). The following corrective action will be taken in 60000 milliseconds: Reboot the machine. For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.In the Application part of events viewer, there are also numerous messages saying that:Faulting application svchost.exe, version 5.1.2600.2180, faulting module unknown, version 0.0.0.0, fault address 0x00a19e52.For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.along with Fault bucket 555734912.I am running WinXP SP2 with Kaspersky Internet Security 6.0.1.411 and Outpost Firewall any ideas what is going on? thanks
Siginet Posted November 4, 2007 Posted November 4, 2007 Random reboots really suck. Cause it's hard to narrow down the problem.I'd run a scan on my RAM to see if it is faulty. Also a scan with chkdsk to check the hard drive. Check if the fans on your laptop are working ok. Also make sure your fans aren't smothered on your bed in a blanket or something. It is common for people to use a laptop in bed and cover up where the fans need to exit. If none of these are the issue you can look into bad drivers. Maybe Windows updated a driver recently that is causing instability.I'm sure you allready checked for Spyware/Viruses.I like to use a quick scan with Rogue Remover, Lavasoft Ad-Aware and or SpyBot.Hope this info helps.
