thedynamix
Hi guys,Having a bit of trouble customising my Footer when it comes to page numbering.I do not wish to count the front page and contents pages of my document so I would usually de-select the "Link to previous" button, but in Word 2007, the "Link to previous" button never seems to be highlighted (active) for clicking..Therefore it is forcing all my pages to share the same header and footer as the page above...Am I doing something wrong here? Thanks guys! spacesurfer
It's called "Link to Previous Section" and hence, it requires Sections be created in your document. Are you sure you have your front page and content pages sectioned off. If not, you need to insert section breaks in your document to be able to use the Link to Previous section button.

Then you see "Header and footer". Click and you're finished.Greetz Waus

In the "Page Setup" group, there is a control called "Breaks". Choose Section Break - Next Page. This will allow you to start the numbering over for each section.
