ernesto Posted October 26, 2007 Posted October 26, 2007 Greetings.Came across this excellent guide on installing XP onto a USB HDD. By making a few changes to the installation files, the modifies XP setup CD will install onto an external HDD and run from there. Very cool. How can one use nlite to automate this task? Thanks and best regards.
Arie Posted October 26, 2007 Posted October 26, 2007 You could simply follow the guide and replace the mentioned files. Use nLite on this source. You'll encounter one problem though, which is quite big, and that is that your install won't be unattended since you will need to click through various driver signing screens and such as mentioned in the guide. In other words, why would one even bother using nLite still if it can't make your installation unattended or why would even want to make an installation such as this unattended?

Arie Posted October 26, 2007 Posted October 26, 2007 to make it lighter? You don't need nLite for that necessarily.
