Dear friends,

I am using win XP SP2 and Fedora Core 7 as Dual OS. My sys is assembled with PIV processor and 384MB ram.

Suddenly I am not able to logging into win XP SP2 as Admin. it is simply restarting.

In Debugging mode it hangs after giving the admin pW. Where as the Fedora Core 7 is working fine.

The error messages: C:\DOCUME~1\ADMINI~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\WERed39.dir00\Mini092607-03.dmp

C:\DOCUME~1\ADMINI~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\WERed39.dir00\sysdata.xml

I can edit the above files through Fedora, if required.

Please let me get out of this rid.

Thanks in advance.

Kundan.

Well first off those files are in the temp dir so I would begin be deleting them through fedora.

They might be linked to a virus.

Empty the whole temp folder out while you are at it.

also can you edit xp's regitry somehow through fedora?

if you can you might want to check your hklm run section and see if anything funny is there.

If not get a copy of UBCD for windows (Freeware) and you can use that to modify and clean your windows out.

P.S. I have never used Fedora so I have no clue how much capabilities you have in it.

Dear Kelsenellenelvian,

Thank you for UR quick reply. I will try UR suggestions in a while and I will get back to U.

Using Fedora I can access the windows files and folders manually not more than that.

Once again thank you.

Dear Kelsenellenelvian,

I have deleted all the files & folders(Approx 2000) from the Temp folder in admin.

But there is no use, things are as it is.

I can't go in to the registry with any software. I can edit the files & folders manually.

Thanks,

Kundan.
