Lane Posted October 21, 2007 Posted October 21, 2007 (edited) I've got a laptop and desktop set up on a home network. When I do a "Save As" on my laptop, it always goes to my desktop instead - same thing with File-Open. Its defaulting to the other machine. I've tried changing the options in word for saving files, but it still does it... what am I doing wrong? Thanks Edited October 21, 2007 by Lane
PC_LOAD_LETTER Posted October 21, 2007 Posted October 21, 2007 yeah ive had that before but if you clean out the MRU (most recently used) lists it'll fix the problem.I use Crap cleaner for that but there are tons of others.http://www.ccleaner.com/
Lane Posted October 21, 2007 Author Posted October 21, 2007 Thanks.... I use crap cleaner frequently and it hasn't changed the prob - maybe I don't have it set right, I'll check - but I'm assuming its some kind of default thats set wrong? No?
PC_LOAD_LETTER Posted October 21, 2007 Posted October 21, 2007 I dont know what causes it but ccleaner has always fixed it for me.if its office 2k7 then this might workhttp://wordprocessing.about.com/od/microso...savelocatio.htmand apparently you can do it with a Gp for 2k7http://technet2.microsoft.com/Office/en-us...3.mspx?mfr=true
Lane Posted October 21, 2007 Author Posted October 21, 2007 Thanks again... I'll try those links, but I've got Office 2003. Just ran ccleaner again and the recently used files wasn't checked, so I checked it. Maybe I need to restart afterwards or something
Lane Posted October 22, 2007 Author Posted October 22, 2007 Still cant figure this out - can anyone help?
